A growing company needs to sit around a table and take stock of the situation.
We chose to implement it “playing seriously” with LEGO® bricks.
Supported by the experience of Paola Santoro and Antonia Colasante, certified facilitators in the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology, we dedicated a whole day to the goal of bringing out our team’s potential and aspirations to build together a strong corporate identity.

At SOVEGA, we firmly believe that the true asset of a company are people and that being a team does not mean putting a group of individuals with complementary technical skills around a target. There is much more. There are skills and abilities that often “are hidden under the desk” and that sometimes we can’t let them emerge and we loese the opportunity to add value, gratification and satisfaction to our work.
Starting from this awareness we decided to participate in the game without knowing in detail what to expect, but from the moment we let our hands finding answers in the bricks and we immediately realized that it would have been a very special day. We were the real protagonists of the game bringing in it our baggage of contents, aspirations and potentiality that gradually emerged during the facilitation process.

The facilitators started the session with a series of questions aimed at providing a better understanding of the current company situation. Based on the questions, we were invited from time to time to build our models with LEGO® bricks.
The built models were the starting point for several group discussions aimed at sharing knowledge and interaction. To the strains of an excellent soundtrack, (sometimes more reflective, sometimes more rock), we were able to “stage” the relationships and real connections that we developed in these 10 years years of common work and we begun to outline shared ways of possible future scenarios, aware of our potential.
For us it was a pleasant surprise because we built knowledge by building things.
It is really true, paraphrasing Plato, that you can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in many years of working together.

To be continued …

LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®* is a facilitated thinking, communication and problem solving technique for use with organizations, teams and individuals. It draws on extensive research from the fields of business, organization development, psychology and learning, and is based on the concept of “hand knowledge.” [R. Rasmussen].
The strength of this methodology lies in having a common language, bricks, which foster creativity and everyone’s participation.
